Coping with Stress

October 9 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Father Nicholas Amato

When we look at the life of Jesus, we quickly discover that he remained at peace under pressure. He was never in a hurry. He was always at ease. He had a calmness about his life that enabled him to handle enormous amounts of stress. How did he do this so successfully?

The answer can be stated simply: he based his life on sound principles of stress management. If we understand and apply the very principles he used, we will experience less pressure and more inner peace.

Come spend a day in prayer and reflection learning from the Master Teacher. More importantly, it will not only be a time for new understandings, but real connection through prayer and Eucharist for becoming one with the Lord, Jesus himself. That connection is the yeast that makes the bread dough rise; it’s the warm air in the hot air balloon that allows it to soar.

Outside of the presentation and group dialogue time, this will be a day of silence.

The guide for our day is Father Nicholas Amato, no stranger to the retreat center. He has been a regular presenter for retreats and days of recollection for many years. He brings with him the experience of 50 years ministering as a priest of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, as a spiritual director, and as an author of several books: Living in God: Contemplative Prayer and Contemplative Action (2016), Moving from Stress to Joy (2018), and Happiness and Joy: Can a Spiritual Life Have Both? (2020). This day away may be, “Just what the doctor ordered.”
