After the death of Jesus, two people were heading Emmaus, a village nearby Jerusalem. On the road to Emmaus, while they were conversing about what had happened to Jesus, he joined their conversation by walking with them. Upon hearing his scriptural explanation, they felt their hearts burning. They experienced living Jesus.
Our faith journey is similar to being ‘on the road to Emmaus’. Within our day to day busy life, we often forget that Jesus is standing by and walking with us in our journey of life. This retreat is designed to help recognize our living God who dwells within us and walks the life journey along with us. It offers contemplative time to immerse oneself in the presence of living Jesus.
Please bring your own Bible, if you have any preferred one. Weather permitting, there will be time to reflect outside on our beautiful grounds. This will be a day of silence. Guided by Sr. Ji Choi.
Sr. Ji Choi, a Novice with the Sisters of Bon Secours, USA, provided religious education in a parish setting before she entered religious life.
