During the season of Lent, we will offer a 6-week Group Spiritual Direction-in-Common series. This group will be limited to six people and will meet for six consecutive weeks, on Thursdays from Feb. 15th through March 22nd. Attendance at every session is required for participants, to preserve the integrity of the group experience for all.
Direction-in-Common is a form of spiritual direction in which a small group gathers to reflect on our life experiences in light of Scripture or other spiritual readings. In this contemplative setting, we discern together, in our sharing and in our listening, the voice of the Holy Spirit within ourselves and in each other. Our common journeys illuminate the path for one another.
Facilitated by Amy Kulesa, each session will contemplatively flow from silence to listening deeply to a reading; to sharing about this reading and how it speaks to our hearts; to communion, as we become aware of the Spirit speaking in and among us; and commitment to live in the flow of these Divine Directives in the coming week. Each week one participant will have the opportunity to share a portion of their spiritual journey more in depth, in relation to our reading for the week.
We will gather these six weeks from 1:00-2:30 p.m. (1:00-3:00 the first week) and you are invited, as you are able, to come early for Mass at 11:00 a.m. and lunch at noon. Lunch tickets will be available at the Welcome Center for $10, but please call ahead for availability (410-442-3120). The $60 retreat cost includes all six sessions.
Amy Kulesa serves as the Director of Associates for the Sisters of Bon Secours, USA. She earned an M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary and an M.S.W. in clinical social work practice from Rutgers University. She is a graduate of the Epiphany Certification Program from the Epiphany Academy of Formative Spirituality in Pittsburgh, PA, and is a Secular Franciscan. She enjoys facilitating retreats in which participants have the opportunity to discern the narrative of their own lives within the larger story of God’s abundant healing, grace and mercy.
Limited space is available. Please call our Welcome Center at 410-442-3120 to see if there is still a 6th spot open. Thank you.
