Join us on Valentine’s Day at the Retreat and Conference Center for a gala dinner and an evening sharing stories of love. Drs. John and Audrey Rogers will share a presentation that celebrates marriage and inspires couples too. It will conclude with an informal Reaffirmation of Marriage Vows.
Enjoy a celebratory dinner, prepared by our distinguished chefs, including your choice of: surf & turf, seafood, chicken or vegetarian. A variety of beverages will be available, including wine, and a delicious dessert will also be served. Then, John and Audrey will share their presentation.
Sometimes after the Valentine candy is eaten and the flowers have wilted, we feel an indistinct yearning for an experience that touches the deeper parts of our life together: an experience that can feed our dreams, strengthen our shared vision, and sustain us through the daily grind of frustrations and distractions. There is something deep in the human soul that longs for a life-long partner who is also an anam cara, a soul friend, committed and faithful. We have all seen such old and devoted couples, knowing in our hearts that what we see is precious, and knowing, too, on some deep and sacred level, we want it for ourselves. How to achieve this? How to invest, develop, and embrace, so we can grow old and wise and devoted together? Join us as we explore what this sacred journey of marriage can mean.
John and Audrey are both retired health professionals who have been involved in marriage enrichment programs for their entire married life. These activities included team presentations in Marriage Encounter, Family Program in Chapel Hill, and the Married Couples Group at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Baltimore. After retiring, they both attended and received a Masters’ degree in theology at the Ecumenical Institute at St. Mary’s Seminary and University.
You won’t want to miss this annual special event at the Bon Secours Retreat and Conference Center as we celebrate Valentine’s Day!
The price for the evening is $90 per couple.
Please note that this event was previously advertised to be presented by Rev. Stephen and Molly Wade, but due to another commitment they are unable to present this year. We are so grateful that Drs. John and Audrey Rogers have agreed to step in and provide a wonderful presentation.
