Please click on our events to find out more about these retreats, which are sponsored by the Bon Secours Retreat and Conference Center. If you would like information about scheduling a group conference to come to our Center, please contact our Sales Manager, Rainey Taylor, at 410-442-3144. Conferences are distinguished from retreats because the group comes to our center for the facilities, lodging and/or meals, but they have their own presenter and attendees. Retreats are events that we plan here at the Center and are open to the public to attend.

Centering Prayer

October 24 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Centering Prayer sessions are held weekly. Although typically the sessions rotate between afternoon and evening sessions, this month we will be meeting at 1pm each Tuesday. Centering Prayer is a form of Christian contemplative prayer, in which one abides in the Presence of God in interior silence. Centering Prayer emphasizes the indwelling Presence of the Holy Trinity within and among us, and our openness, through receptive silence and restful surrender, to God’s action and healing grace. For our one-hour sessions, we will gather…

Poetry as Portal: Opening to Life, Grace & Joy

November 3 @ 9:30 am - 4:00 pm

Through the elasticity of metaphor, poetry provides a direct portal into our own lives. They are our custom-made ground for cultivating awareness, charting the lives we want to lead, letting go of obstacles, nurturing joy, enlivening spiritual practice and dwelling in sacred unity with ourselves, with one another, with all of creation. Using poems as catalysts, the Portal process has been in continuous use since 2010, and was more recently celebrated at the national conference of the Transformative Language Arts…

November 3 @ 3:00 pm - November 5 @ 1:00 pm

Thanksgiving is an important holiday here in the United States. It is a time to stop and reflect on who/what we are grateful for. How consciously grateful are you day-to-day? When good things come your way, do you thank God? And when difficulties come your way, do you thank God? Are you grateful for everything? Certainly Jesus expressed gratitude. And the one leper who was cured came back to Jesus to say “thank you!” We will look at the importance…
