Women’s Wellness Weekend

Discover Your Strengths ~ Your Unique Gifts from God You are a unique, strong, resilient woman who has been given special talents from your Creator. Yet, you are human, which means you (and the rest of us) experience doubt, stress, and fear. On the surface, being strong may look like ‘having it all together’. But that’s not the case; it means being connected to an inner source of strength that guides us. Managing stress and doubt begins with understanding yourself,…

Mindfulness, Stress Reduction, and Connecting with God

Mindfulness, Stress Reduction, and Connecting with God We spend a lot of our lives busily going from one task to the next. We often miss the present moment. The present moment is where we meet God. The present moment is also where we find the space to respond in healthier ways to our experiences instead of reacting automatically. Mindfulness is paying attention to what is happening in the present moment, non-judgmentally, and with compassion. Paying attention to our experiences gives…

SoulCollage® and the Four Elements: Air, Fire, Water, Earth

Immerse yourself in a weekend of exploring your intuition and imagination through collage making! The SoulCollage® process invites you to browse through piles of images and magazines to find pictures that call to you. When you assemble your selected images, your SoulCollage® card will visually re-create your lived experiences, personality parts, companions and supports -- both human and animal -- plus your archetypal patterns and spirit guides. A Sacred Encounter with Jesus, Buddha & Rumi: The Very Heart of LOVE

Join us for an evocative retreat weekend that will consider three of the world’s prominent spiritual teachers and the timeless wisdom that flows from their inspirational example. Blessing the Chestnut Oaks

Tessa Newton, Sisters of Bon Secours Program Manager of Fundraising (and former Sales & Marketing Manager for the Retreat & Conference Center), attended the sister's blessing of trees around our labyrinth last week. She shares about this circle of life on today's blog... When you have 313 acres of mostly wooded land, it comes as no surprise when a tree or two needs to be cut down. We have regular site visits from a local tree company to inspect, prune,…

Sentinel of Conscience

Several retreat guests will arrive today to begin their 3-night or 6-night Directed Retreat. These retreats are offered periodically throughout the year and offer a time of silence for guests. They meet with a spiritual director for one hour per day and attend Mass, if they'd like, but otherwise spend time reflecting, praying, reading and writing on their own within an environment of silence. Many seek this retreat annually to reconnect with the still, small voice within and they leave…

I wish you enough…

During our weekly planning meeting at the Retreat & Conference Center, we take turns volunteering to read a short reflection or prayer, setting the tone for our time together. Rainey Taylor, our Sales Manager, offered a beautiful reflection this week and we thought you all would enjoy it as well. Friends, we wish you enough. I wish you enough... Recently, I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport as the daughter’s departure had been…
